Hard water and limescale questions

Water across most of Lebanon is hard, meaning it carries a lot of calcium, and that is what forms limescale. Cleaning alone does not fix it because the deposits come straight back. A magnetic descaler fits on your main line and stops limescale sticking to pipes, the water heater and appliances from the moment water enters the building.

Limescale coats the heating element, so the heater takes longer and uses more electricity, and eventually fails early. Stop the deposits forming at the inlet and the element stays clean and the heater runs at its normal efficiency.

Those white spots are limescale. When water dries, calcium is left behind on taps, sinks, tiles and shower glass. Stop the deposits forming and the spotting drops sharply and cleaning gets much easier.

A filter removes something from the water. A descaler removes nothing, it just stops limescale sticking. There are also salt softeners, which do lower the hardness reading but need salt topping up and waste water regenerating. Ours uses no salt, no electricity and has nothing to refill.
